ENERGY STAR® Criteria

We Uses Different Terminology:

We do this to help consumers understand the physics of energy. As per the U.S. Department of Energy ENERGY STAR guidelines:

  • It is more important in northern climates that the U-Factor be as low as possible, therefore we call it: Winter Heat Loss.
  • It is more important in southern climates that the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient be as low as possible, therefore we call it Summer Heat Gain.

DP stands for Design Pressure — a rating that identifies the load, induced by wind, that a product is rated to withstand. Hence, we call it Wind Load Capacity.
